We believe in preaching the Word of God, not watered down, and not twisted to fit our mold. We believe in making it simple to understand yet inspiring while motivating us into action--Go ye into all the world and make disciples of every nation.
Our Sunday Morning worship is a very important time for us to gather to hear what God is saying to us as a church and to respond to His voice and His conviction in obedience. Sunday evening is a continuation of the instructions from God's Word and Wednesday Bible Study is an opportunity to rightly divide the Word, to ask questions and offer input and insight into what the Bible says.
Every fourth Sunday Night we have a joyous time of fellowship in singing with our local talents and each 5th Sunday night, we have the opportunity to praise and worship with those in full time gospel music ministry from bluegrass to Southern gospel to contemporary.
Our Goal and Purpose is to make disciples through Friendship, Fellowship and Missions.
Missions Our church is mission focused as we reach out in the community in cooperation with local ministries such as Helping Hands, the Salvation Army and others. We assist with food, clothing, benevolence of all kinds and with other assistance when possible.
We are well represented in overseas missions and missions to areas of need in the USA.
Our church has represented the Lord Jesus Christ in such places as Mexico, Russia, Cuba, Romania, South Africa and Zimbabwe.
We also have served through missions in the poverty stricken Appalachia regions of Kentucky and the hurricane devastated areas in the Gulf Coast areas of Mississippi, as well as here in South Carolina where the need arises.
Another ministry of our church is MATTHEW 25 SUNDAY. This is the 4th Sunday of each month that we ask you to give at least $2 for each member of your family that is used to help the many who are in our church or come to our church with needs they cannot meet on their own. If we can help, even if it's only a little, we want to try. Our foundation for this part of our missions ministry is found in Matthew 25:35-40.
Sunday School meets at 850AM each Sunday for a Sunday School Fellowship breakfast. Classes begin at 930AM with a class for every age and interest group from the cradle all the way to senior adults. Our Sunday School also sponsors an annual Summer Sunday School Celebration on or near July 4 each year. Sunday School is where friendships begin. Our members invite their family and friends to come and be a part of these interactive times in God's Word.
WMU is an active part of the ministries of our church. Our ladies are involved in special outreach projects throughout the year in local and overseas missions. The ladies meet once a month for devotions and meals as well as to plan and implement missions projects. Included in these are Janie Chapman offering, Annie Armstrong offering, Lottie Moon offering, Samaritans Purse, Prisoner Packets, Marine Institute Outreach, Several Churches in South Africa, and Prayer Walking. Focused Bible Studies throughout the year enable the ladies to disciple others through friendship, fellowship and missions.
Iron Men Men's Ministry is based on Proverbs 27:17 Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend. Iron Men meets once a month for Bible Study using The Man in The Mirror, The Man God Uses and other men focused studies. We also include meals for fellowship to plan projects such as outreach to widows, troubled youth, and building projects at our church and helping others in the community that have needs. The men also make regular trips to baseball and football games as well as hosting their very own fishing tournament. The men also meet once a month for a breakfast. Iron Men supports many missions projects in our community. Men need more than secular friendships, but friendships and fellowship that is spiritually grounded and focused. Our men reach out to their friends to be a part of this opportunity to grow spiritually.
Prayer Ministry We believe in the power of prayer. We offer intercessory prayer times during the week away from regular services in order to ask our Lord for His provision and intervention in the lives of others, in our nation, church and world. Additionally, through WMU we have regular prayer walks around the area.
Operation Ministry If it's broke, fix it. A part of our operation ministry is caring for the church building and church grounds. If you see something broke, or just something that needs to be done and you would like to help, we have CAN DO TUESDAYS. On selected Tuesdays each month, we get together to work on various projects and needs around the building and grounds.
Fellowship Ministry This important part of our church is vital in maintaining the loving family atmosphere you will find here. Each month, we have a fellowship dinner. The kitchen crew work very hard to provide a meal after the morning service the second Sunday of each month. The money that is raised from the meal goes to pay off our debt on the Family Life Center. Our thought is this--if you can pay $25 for two to eat out with strangers, why can't you pay $25 to eat Sunday Dinner with family while at the same time you are helping your church to grow Spiritually, financially, and in brotherly love one for another.
